I shot beach park Yesterday (Thursday) from 7 to 930am. It had some high tide wobbles early, but it got better as the morning wore on. Still had a few 4 foot sets rolling in. Click on the title to see a few of the good shots.

Firing Threes w/ Gallery

Shot Threes Yesterday (Tuesday) from 730 to 1030am. The swell was thumping. There were about Three hundred people in the water (all numbers approximate). Sets were 4 to maybe 6 feet. Winds were light to moderate offshore. Every once in a while the whole pack would scratch for the horizon and leave a couple short boarders on the inside to pick off a gem like the one pictured above (or take the set on the head). Click the title for a few highlights.

Swam out to Beach Park yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) and shot some lefts. Still had a few sets pushing head high and a little bigger. The rights were firing too but couldn't really shoot them with because it's looking right into the sun.

Sneaky Bump at Bowls

GALLERY: http://photos.oahusurfshots.com/Other/Ala-Moana-Bowls-08-22-2011/1867606...

The South Swell came early yesterday (Monday) and town was rocking some 3 to 4 foot sets. It must have caught people by surprises because a lot of spots were uncrowded. Someone must have tipped the Bowls crew off because it was plenty crowded out there. Took pictures from around 5 to 6:30pm. The waves were sick. The tide was kinda low so the bigger ones were kinda shutting down the middle peak...

Tahiti getting ready to rock

Some Highlights from yesterday - Day 1 of the Billabong Pro Teahupoo. CJ was dominating as usual. Dusty Payne's looking good too. Things are going to get interesting come Thursday when it's forecast to be 8 to 12 feet. That's gonna be exciting to watch. The same swell should hit us around Monday the 29th... at about one tenth the size... if we're lucky.

Beach Park Gallery - Saturday

Drove to Diamond Head first and all the ocean side parking was blocked off for a Running Race. I finally found a spot and was about halfway down the trail when I spotted a photographer swimming out to the line up. Too many photographers in the water and people will start thinking they're at Backdoor. So I called an audible and headed for the Beach Park. Parking was harder to find than a barrel at Flat Island. Eventually scored an opening but I was on the wrong side of Magic Island. I made the punishing Hike all the way up the beach and swam out...

Shot Bowls yesterday (Friday). It was firing. Waves were mostly head high with sets pushing a foot or 2 over head and fairly consistent. Conditions were sweet, glassy to light offshore. I took pictures between 2:30 and 5:00pm. If you couldn't be bothered looking through the whole gallery, click on the blog title to check out a few of the good shots I picked out.

I shot a few different beach park spots today and will have that gallery up tomorrow.

Here's the Bowls gallery from yesterday (Thursday). I shot between 4pm and 630pm. The waves were shoulder high to maybe a foot overhead and super fun. Not super consistent, but come on, it's a south swell we're talking about. Click on the blog title to see a few of the best shots.

I shot Bowls yesterday (Tuesday) between 4 and 6pm. The tide was a little high but the swell still had a few pulses left in it. The good sets were pushing slightly overhead. Conditions were nice with light off shores.

A Few Beach Park Bangers with Gallery

Shot Beach Park yesterday (Monday). Click the link above for the full gallery, or click on the blog title to see a few of the best shots. The waves were fun. Head high plus on the sets with a few killer lulls. Conditions were cherry. I took pictures between 7:15am and 10:15am. Things were a little dark in the beginning with the sun hiding behind the clouds, but once it popped out things started looking all summer south shore pretty.
