Banging Bowls

Took photos at Bowls today from 2:45pm to 4:45pm. It was firing. Little bowl had some screamers and the odd set popped off on the big bowl. Conditions were buttery with light off shore winds. Here's a small appetizer of pics. The full gallery should be locked and loaded in the morning.

Pipe Gallery from Yesterday. Signed, Sealed and Delivered.

Here's the full gallery from yesterday. I was shooting between 8am and 10 am. For some reason the last 150 or so pictures are at the front of the gallery. Apart from that it's all chronological.

6 Foot Pipe in April? Yes please.

Pipe was wicked fun this morning. Some solid 6 foot sets and lots of fun in betweeners. It was pumping even harder early, before the sun came up. I got out there for a few. The crowd was super chill. A couple of times I was sitting all on my own, right in the spot, with a perfect 6 foot set staring me down. I should have sacked up and went but opted for the the more user friendly mid-size ones. I got a couple little pipes that made my day.

Another Bowls Bash + Gallery

I hit Bowls again yesterday afternoon. Waves were mostly around chest to shoulder high and light offshore. There were plenty of smackable sections being dished up.

Here's the Bowls gallery from yesterday. I was hoping the swell would bump back up again today but it's looking pretty slow on the town cam. I'll probably cruise to town this afternoon and snap a few pics if it's not too dosile.

Test run at Bowls

I just got my new water housing from SPL and took it out to Bowls for a test run this afternoon. The lighting wasn't ideal as it was overcast most the time I was out. The waves were around shoulder high with a few smackable walls pushing through. Real long waits on the sets in true south swell fashion. I took pictures between 4 and 6. The full gallery should be up in the morning. Click on the bog for a few select shots.

It looked like the country had some today. Pipe cam was showing some heaving 6 foot peaks. The girls must have had their hands full in their competition.

Pipeline Gallery

Here's the Pipeline gallery from yesterday. I took photos between 10:00am and 12noon. It looks like the swells dropped a notch today and the winds are nuking. The good news is that reports of winter's end have been greatly exaggerated. Pat Caldwell's calling for average to above average spring surf next week with lighter winds. Sick.

Pipeline Punch

The Northwest swell was holding this morning. Pipe was easy 6 feet and pouring through relentlessly. The winds were perfect, 15mph offshore. Gavin Beschen, Dave Wassel and a handful of surfers were getting some bombs. The spongers were getting some deep pits and doing some loopy things. There were some 3 footers wrapping around a little sand point straight out from the beach park and a few crew scoring some there. I'll have a gallery up in the morning. Here's a few pics to hold you over.

Getting Sandy

I stopped by Sandys on the way back from town on Thursday. There were a few thick ones in the shore break. I showed up a little too late though and the light was pretty much gone, hence the small gallery. Click on the title to see a few of the better shots.
