Fun Beach Park Sesh ~ 04-26-2012

Town was showing some signs of life so I headed over early to beat the sea breeze. Sets were sparse in typical southern hemi swell fashion but there were a couple pulses of back to back head high sets that got the crew buzzing. I took pictures from 745 to 1015. waves were to 2 - 3 feet. Wind was side off and switched on shore right when I stepped on the beach coming in.

Swell was small in town today (Monday) but found a few fun ones sneaking few at the Beach Park.

Bells: Mick wins, Slater should have ~ April 6, 2012

Some insane surfing in the final. Slater's 10 point, rediculously high, full rotation air reverse into the flats was unbelievable. Mick's surfing was powerful and flawless minus the flare of Slater. Slater should have gotten the score he needed on his second scoring ride. Slater's been the beneficiary of some questionable finals scoring in the past - beating AI in Jbay and Phil MacDonald at Trestles come to mind - so he probably had it coming.

Beautiful morning on the North Shore. Swell was North, 3 to 4 feet, no clouds and straight off shore winds. Had a quick tube hunt at Rockies and then grabbed the camera and took pictures from 730am to 930am.

Town has been showing some signs of life the last couple weeks with a few fun little swells. I shot Beach Park yesterday from 8am to 1045am. It wasn't exactly pumping but when they came there were some rippable shoulder to head high bangers.

Sandys Video ~ 03-24-2012

Monday, March 26 2012

I jumped in for a quick session at Sandys on Saturday. I should have a video up tomorrow. Took a few beatings and scuffed up the new port for my water housing. Congrats to John John for smoking everyone in West Oz. He won the event and it wasn't even close. Definitely one of the funnest guys to watch surf.

Had a quick look up and down the North Shore this morning, but Lanis was the only spot really pulling in the swell. Waves were 4 to 5 feet with a few 6 footers keeping everyone on their toes. Some of them were lining up good and running through. A few hollow sections if you were in the right the spot. Gallery should be up late tonight or tomorrow morning.

Live web stream of Margaret River contest
Pros are down at Margaret's River for a comp. The waves look sick today. Contest runs from around 11am to 8pm Hawaii time. Check the video above for a bit of yesterday's action and the link for a live stream. For Hawaii, we have a NNW swell in the on-deck circle. Should have fun overhead waves in the country tomorrow
