Video from Wednesday Country Session

Another Fun Country Run

Cruised up to the Country again yesterday (Tuesday, Jan 17). The wind was blasting early, southerly with a pinch of west in it making for a little bit of bump coming into the rights. Once the sun popped up it switched straight offshore and got pretty sweet. Most spots were 4 to 6 feet, the right I hit was 3 to 4 with a few drainers.

Had a killer surf yesterday morning (Wednesday). Waves were nonstop, 3 to 4 feet with super fun barrels. Crowd was minor too. Froth fest. Took pictures from 830am to 1030am. I didn't weed out any blurry pics yet, so there's a few fuzzy ones mixed in there.

Video Edit, Saturday's Left

Here's some video from Saturday's session.

Loopy Lefts

Hit the country today and scored some sick lefts. Got as many as could before the sun popped over the hills, then went in and grabbed my camera. Took pictures between 830a and 1130a. Waves were solid 6 feet on the sets. Glassy to light offshore. Lucky for me the current was behaving itself so I only got washed through a couple of times. I should have a gallery up in the morning.

Went to the country yesterday (Thursday) and took pictures at Sunset. The waves were way down from Big Wednesday but still plenty of juice - 6 to 8 feet, moderate offshore. Some solid peaks outside and some throbbing barrels on the inside. The brothers Florence showed up toward the end and went to work on the inside, pulling in with abandon. Heard stories of 25 foot clean up sets and plenty of carnage at some outer reefs yesterday.

Hunting Double Ups w/ GALLERY

Headed to the county this morning (Thursday) planning on unsheathing the mini-gun and chasing down some big walls at Sunset. Ended up on the short stick scouring the lineup for juicy double ups at a super (not so) secret spot. The waves were super fun, 3 to 4 feet and peaking and washing through all over the place. It was luck of the draw if you'd end up with a burger or a bowl on the inside.

Surfing the End of the World

I love this video. It had me scouring Google maps for Patagonia. There are few things more exhilarating than scoring sick waves with no one else out. I can't imagine how it'd feel to get waves that good, by yourself, in a location so remote.

Took pictures at Sunset Beach this morning (Sunday, Dec 25th) from 830am to 11am. New NW swell was filling in nicely. 4-6 feet and plenty of juice. The inside section was serving up a few bulbous ones. The winds have been blasting all week on the Eastside and I was half expecting it to be victory at sea conditions in the country too. But the wind was minor and the conditions were killer. I should have a full gallery up in the morning. Click the header to see a few top shots.

Took pictures at Sunset yesterday (Sunday Dec. 18th) from 845am to 1045am. Waves were 4 to 6 feet. Stiff offshore trades. There were some nice Teepees when they'd wedge up just right. A shifty line up kept everyone on their toes with most the lineup getting caught in the rinse cycle on a couple occasions...
